UNIVERSITIES TO CANCEL 2019/2020 ACADEMIC SESSION

 Federal Universities of Nigeria to cancel 2019/2020 Academic Session and start New Session 2020/2021

Remember, Many Obstruction has happened to the Academic Calendar of all Universities across Nigeria,  Those obstruction has caused the Closure of the Schools be it in Primary, Secondary and Tertiary Education. The Shutting down of  the Schools is caused by Corona Virus which outbreak to the World by the Late December 2019, Where all Sectors over the World Country has to shut down including Education sectors.

Apart from Corona Virus Pandemic, The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) too embark on a long period Strike that Last for 10 to 11 months.

ASUU started their Strike because of the Issue of IPPIS payment from the Federal Government.

So, Due to the Closure of the Schools in order to curtain the Spread of the Deadly Disease (Covid-19) and the Strike embarked on for Months, Universities have lost 11 months from the Academic Calendar, which is very difficult for many Schools to adjust and finish with the 2019/2020 Academic Session.

Some Universities have come to conclusion of Cancelling the 2019/2020 academic Session and Start a new Session afresh.

Some Universities that make the announcement are as follows:- Bayero University, Kano State, UNIVERSITY OF IBADAN (UI) Oyo State, while  some other Universities are still contemplating whether to Cancel the 2019/2020 academic session or to continue from where they stop. While  some Universities like Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) Ile-Ife Osun State says to continue with 2019/2020 Academic Session and cancelled 2020/2021 Session.

In line with the 2019/2020 Academic Session continuation, Most Universities and Polytechnics are to continue with the Session, The likes of FEDERAL POLYTECHNIC NASARAWA, Nasarawa State is rsmusing on 25th of January and Starting Exam by First week of February.

According to the Above Image, Federal Polytechnic Nasarawa (FPN) is starting their 2019/2020 Examination on 1st of February which is the Second week of Resumption, And the Exam will last for just Two Weeks (01/02/2021 - 19/02/2021)

The School should have resume on 18th being the Date for Resumption for all the Schools across the Country, But their Resumption was delayed due to the Death of A Former Head of Department (HOD) for Science Laboratory Technology (SLT), Due to that A Circular was released by School Management announcing the Postponement of the Resumption date, In the Memo it was said that The Campus will be Fumigated from 14th to 24th of this Month.

A Circular was released after that announcing the Resumption date to be 24th and Academic Activities to start on 25th.

Federal Polytechnic Nasarawa did not cancel 2019/2020 Academic Session and will start and Finish First Semester Examination within Two Weeks.
